Newonics engineering department is headed up by Kent Mabey who has been designing and developing products for customers since 1972. He has been a consultant for MicroChip since it was a part of GI.
We have handled hundreds of projects from very complex medical systems to simple interface circuits. This spans the power spectrum of controlling 100 hp three phase motors to special LCD displays running on microamps. Projects have included AC and DC motor controls, interface to pressure, temperature, humidity, tilt, capacitance, proximity and current sensors; controls circuits and user interfaces of all types. Kent has specialized in Microcontrollers and analog and digital interface and control circuits. By knowing the hardware and software problems and strengths before we begin, a design can be crafted for you that is the right answer.
Rey Wunderly is also in house and has been doing Kent’s boards and schematics for over 35 years. We are able to simplify designs and make them both durable and manufacturable. Rey has worked as a drafter, PC board layout, and document control manager. Rey has layed out boards from hand taping to computer generated and has worked for and with companies that needed large weldments to small folded or stamped metal pieces.
Tools presently used:
PADS (Mentor Graphics) for Schematic capture and PC board layout. This product also has links to a few autorouters when necessary. A number of PADS developed Autorouters plus one Cooper and Chan Autorouter.
AutoCad is used for general drafting of assembly drawings and aides, mechanical details such as metal chassis', enclosure modifications.
We use a product called Camtastic to alter Gerber files when necessary. This tool can also create step and repeat files if necessary.
We use CircuitCam when it is necessary to extract the x-y locations(centriod) of parts from Gerber file(s).
